Holiday Lettings

including AirBNB

Websites such as AirBNB have become a very popular way of taking holidays and, for hosts, a useful source of income. However, if you live in an apartment and wish to advertise your home on AirBNB or a similar website, you need to check first that you are not breaching the terms of your Lease.

This may be because:

  • Earning an income from your home may be deemed a business use.
  • The building's insurers may wish to add conditions to the policy or increase the premium.
  • Strangers coming and going from the building can be a security risk, particularly if keys or entry codes are shared with them.
  • Whilst the vast majority of guests will be considerate and polite, a small minority cause noise disturbance and other nuisance to other residents.

If you wish to advertise your apartment for holiday letting please contact us for advice before doing so.

If you are a resident and are concerned about another apartment in the building being used for holiday lettings please contact us. Any complaint will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
